Pure Marine are working as part of a team including Oceaneering, Supply Design Ltd and BEDL Ltd on a Wave Energy Scotland (WES) project, to develop the PECMAG power take-off (PTO). This project aims to design and test a magnetically geared power take-off unit for wave energy devices.
Bench testing of a representative unit is currently underway with ‘wet’ testing scheduled to take place in Scotland in autumn 2020.
